I recently provided a short introductory talk to a local community group on this topic, covering the ancient nature of Western Australia's geology, a brief history of botanical collection in the last 300 years, WA's major plant groups and their uniqueness and endemism, plus a quick guide to flora identification tools.
I'll shortly run a four-week plant identification course at the Glyde-In Community Learning Centre for those wanting to learn more in-depth methods of identifying our flora.
